Formation

Dear Applicant,

Thank you very much for your interest in the Diaconate Program. Be assured of my prayers as you continue to discern this possible vocation of service to Holy Mother Church.

I would like to provide you with updated information regarding where we are and where we are heading with this formation program. I have spoken with Bishop Guglielmone and we are awaiting a proposal from St. Leo University regarding the education aspect of the program. I expect to receive that proposal the first week of April, at which time it will be reviewed by the Bishop. If all goes well, academic classes will begin this fall at a location within our diocese to be determined at a later date.

The selection process will be as follows:

1. Applications and all supporting documents are currently being reviewed. If you have not yet done so, please make sure all supporting documents are submitted no later than April 30, 2010. Failure to do so will delay your possible acceptance into the program until the next year.


2. All completed applications will be forwarded to the Permanent Diaconate Screening Committee.
   


3. The committee will review the applications and make their recommendations to the Director of Diaconate Formation.
   


4. Those selected will be notified to schedule an interview with the Selection Committee.
   


5. Those selected will then be scheduled for psychological evaluations, along with their wives if applicable.
